When you talk about senior skiers, especially at Silver Star Mountain in British Columbia’s interior, you’re not talking about somebody mincing their way down a green run.

Arriving early in Vladivostok paid dividends. At Primorsky Safari Park we walked along fenced catwalks near, appropriately, freely pacing Amur tigers and leopards, elk, Sitka deer and more.

For Boulder resident Jeff Blumenfeld, the travel bug began with a cross-country bus trip and has led him to the tallest mountains, driest deserts, snowiest landscapes, and most remote outposts around the globe.

Did you ever stop to think that the passenger on a bicycle is also the engine? H.G. Wells said, "When I see an adult on a bicycle, I do not despair for the future of the human race."

I admit, when I told my teenagers we were visiting the museum, they protested. "Can't we do … something else?" But after a few minutes at the Museum of Natural Science, they grew strangely quiet.

“But did we not come to see oases and desert?” Jane, a lady in our group asked. Abd al-Fatah smiled, “We will glory for a while in seducing-decadence, before tackling mountains and deserts.”
